- 2012年3月2日 Wonderful view of Yokohama Port! The The museum itself was a bit of a disappointment, it is the history of the port with a bunch of scale models of the port over the years. I probably would've enjoyed it much more if I knew Japanese. However, the museum is on the 20th floor and right on top of the port, its really quite a site to see. If you're planning on visiting miraikan (National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation) you should take 30min or so and make a visit. Getting there: Just walk in the building and take the elevator to the 20th floor. I had a bit of trouble finding it because no signs are in english. Price: 200 yen.
- 2011年11月7日 great museum for a history lover. tons of maps, photos and paintings/drawings of yokohama throughout the years. not all of the exhibit text is translated into english, but more than enough to undrstand the exhibits. the museum, while providing a history of the port of yokohama, also provides the visitor with a fairly detailed view of japan as a whole, from isolation to perry's opening of the port, to the challenge of earthquakes to the aftermath of ww2 and post-war growth this was a well organized exhibit. highly recommended.
